Biography
Luana Aprile (b. 1986) is an Italian artist currently residing in the charming city of Maastricht, Netherlands.
From a young age, Luana exhibited a profound passion for art, spending countless hours honing skills in drawing and painting. After graduating from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan in 2010, she embarked on a journey of exploration and self-discovery, traveling the world for nearly a decade.
In 2018, Luana found a deep connection with the picturesque city of Maastricht, where she decided to settle and pursue her artistic endeavours. While initially focused on securing a stable income, she never lost sight of their true passion for art.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Luana utilizes mixed mediums to create a textured foundation for intricate shapes, serving as the ideal starting point for the exploration of an infinite array of overlapping nuances and colors.
Luana is also a passionate photographer, transforming personal photos into abstract portrait artworks that blend reality with imagination through digital painting.
She has a deep passion for portraiture, both in photography and drawing; during her time at the Academy of Fine Arts, she created numerous portraits for family and friends, capturing their essence with remarkable detail and emotion.
Creating art experimenting different technique and style, has always been a means for Luana to express and interpret the world, engaging in a journey of introspection and exploration to translate emotions, experiences, and perspectives into visually captivating forms.
